Samsung is focusing on Micro RGB technology.

Samsung has gone on the offensive in the premium TV segment with the unveiling of a new series of TVs that will go on sale this year. The company unveiled a new line-up of devices based on its long-awaited panel technology, referred to as Micro RGB. It is not to be confused with Samsung's Micro LED TVs, which use self-emitting panels and are not yet widely available to consumers. The new series is a development of the 115-inch Micro RGB TV, which went on sale in the second half of 2025. The manufacturer is introducing 55-, 65-, 75-, 85- and 100-inch models in addition to the existing 115-inch variant, thereby significantly expanding the range. According to a company statement, the new TVs provide exceptional colour accuracy thanks to LEDs with a diameter of less than 100 micrometres, which enable extremely precise control of the backlighting. As a result, phenomena such as blooming (glare around bright areas) are to be significantly reduced.

Micro RGB technology is based on the fact that each screen pixel is made up of microscopic RGB LEDs that shine on their own, without the need for a backlight, resulting in very high brightness, perfect blacks and excellent colour reproduction. Mini LED, on the other hand, is a development of the classic LCD - it uses very small LEDs as the matrix backlight, which allows for better contrast and a brighter image than regular LEDs, but still requires an LCD layer and does not offer such perfect blacks as Micro RGB.
The manufacturer has not yet revealed pricing or an exact date of availability. It has announced that it will provide this information closer to the market launch. However, it is worth noting that Samsung's announcement coincided with the recent announcement of the LG MRGB95, suggesting that the company did not want to remain in the shadow of its main Korean competitor. Most significantly, however, both companies are showing which technology is likely to dominate the TV market in the coming years.

Video door entry system for a multi-family block of flats.

Below is a diagram of a Hikvision IP video door entry system for a 10-storey (40 flats) block of flats. Two identical sets of door stations have been installed at the gate and entrance to the block, comprising: a main module with camera (DS-KD8003-IME1(B) G73652), a tag reader in Mifare standard (DS-KD-M G73662), a keypad that allows the gate station relays to be controlled and individual tenants to be called (DS-KD-KP G73668), and a display module that provides information on the status of the gate station and allows a particular subscriber to be selected from a list (DS-KD-DIS G73670). The door station modules in the fence are embedded in two surface-mounted frames (DS-KD-ACW2 G74354) with protective canopies (DS-KABD8003-RS2 G74373). The entrance gate is controlled by a gate station in the fence (second relay built into the main module). The modules at the entrance to the block are embedded in two flush-mounted frames (DS-KD-ACF2 G74343). DS-KH6320-WTE1 G74001 monitors were used in the flats. The entire network was made using two 24-port Ultipower 2224af N29987 switches.

Collective RTV/SAT installation - multiswitch SIGNAL PRO.

In one of Krakow's housing estates a collective multiswitch installation was modernised. The RTV/SAT installation has been based on MS-916 SIGNAL PRO R69916 multiswitch, enabling distribution of FM/DAB+, terrestrial DVB-T2 and satellite DVB-S/S2 signals (HotBird 13.0, Astra 19.2) to 16 subscriber points. The solution used ensures stable and even signal distribution to all end outlets. The implementation included installation of coaxial cabling, proper connection of signal sources from TV antennas and two quatro satellite converters to the multiswitch. The installation was carried out in accordance with the applicable rules of the art of installation and the recommendations of equipment manufacturers.
///After completion of the installation work, control measurements of the signals were carried out. The measurements (performed with a certified ALPSAT AS07STCA-4K R10206 meter) included: signal level, modulation error ratio MER and correctness of reception at subscriber outputs. The picture above shows measurements performed for the transponder tp 11585 V (low band, vertical polarization) from HotBird 13.2. The signal level was PWR: 91.6 dBμV, and MER: 15.8 dB. The results are within the recommended ranges for correct and stable reception of FM and SAT signals

Delivering a mobile phone signal to meters.

The dynamic development of communication technologies has enabled the automation of metering processes in the energy, water and gas sectors. One of the most versatile solutions is remote meter reading (AMI - Advanced Metering Infrastructure) implemented via the GSM mobile phone network. This type of infrastructure allows reliable data transmission from multiple metering points.
In order to reduce costs and improve signal quality, a system is used in which several meters are connected via GSM splitters to a single external antenna with high energy gain. This solution allows stable communication in areas with poor coverage and minimises the number of service points. The antenna acts as a central transmission point, and the splitters transmit data to it by wire, e.g. via coaxial cables or shielded twisted pair.
The diagram shows a complete circuit for connecting electricity meters to the LTE network, enabling remote reading of metering data. The external LTE antenna A741031 is responsible for receiving and transmitting the LTE signal and ensuring a stable connection to the mobile network. The signal from the antenna is fed to the A6812 splitter via a coaxial cable. This element acts as an intermediate device - it receives the signal from the antenna and then passes it on to two independent branches of the installation. From A6812, the signal is routed to two splitters A6814. Each of these serves a group of four electricity meters. The entire system forms a coherent communication system, with a single LTE antenna providing connectivity. With this configuration, all meters can send data remotely and the metering data is reliably transmitted to the operator or energy management system.

Loss classes of optical connectors according to IEC 61300-3-34.

The market offer of fibre optic connectors and pigtails is enormous. The popularity of fibre optic technology in installations has resulted in a significant increase in the number of manufacturers of fibre optic patchcords and pigtails over the past few years - both in Europe and Asia.
The strong competition and fight for customers using the argument of low purchase price, causes that it is not difficult to find lower quality pigtails, which do not meet the declared parameters. On the other hand, many sellers of this type of assortment do not declare at all, what parameters a given connector has (we are talking mainly about unit attenuation and reflectance). Therefore, when deciding on a purchase and wishing to avoid unpleasant surprises, it is worth taking a moment to verify this issue. Some vendors offer pigtails in two quality variants - e.g. "standard" and "premium" or "gold" or "silver" versions. These variants are supposed to differentiate between 'better' and 'inferior' connectors. The problem is that the same vendors often do not communicate what the difference really is and do not provide any quantifiable quality data.

ULTIMODE PG-252-1 SC/APC single-mode pigtail, G.652.D, 1 m L34252
Pigtails and patchcords ULTIMODE are manufactured and tested in accordance with the guidelines of the International Electrotechnical Commission standards IEC 613000-3-34 and IEC 61300-3-6. Each pigtail is accompanied by an appropriate label confirming the compliance of the parameters (insertion loss and reflection loss) with the class defined by the aforementioned standards. Fibre manufactured in accordance with the recommendation ITU-T G.657 (11/2016) or ITU-T G.652 (11/2016).
Attenuation grades for connectors according to IEC 61300-3-34
Grade Attenuation [dB]
A < 0,07 mean < 0,15 max.
B < 0,12 mean < 0,25 max.
C < 0,25 mean < 0,50 max.
D < 0,50 mean < 1,00 max.
Single-mode connectors in Ultimode patchcords and pigtails are class B according to IEC 61300-3-34. This means that their maximum attenuation should not exceed 0.25 dB.

Inserting the cable into the switch. Be sure to have a sufficient spare to allow for convenient splicing and possible future installation work. Spare tube before entering the splice tray allows for fibre recovery in case of breakage in the splice tray. It also makes it possible to work with the cassette outside the fiber junction box. When inserting fibres into the splice cassette, remember to spare and match the length to the final position of the splice sheath in the holder.
