Glasses that know where you're looking.

Tobii Pro Glasses 3 is a professional mobile oculography (eye-tracking) system designed to study human visual attention in a natural environment. The device allows accurate eye movement data to be recorded while keeping the user free and natural, making it an extremely useful research tool in many scientific and business fields.

The glasses have been designed to resemble normal corrective glasses in appearance and weight. This ensures that study participants do not feel artificial or restricted, minimising the observer effect and producing more reliable data. Tobii Pro Glasses 3 have a modular design - they can be adjusted to fit different face shapes and also use interchangeable frames (e.g. for those wearing corrective glasses).
The device uses four infrared cameras to precisely track eye movements in real time. In addition, a wide-angle camera (106°) records the surroundings from the user's point of view, allowing an accurate analysis of exactly what the user is looking at and in what context.
Tobii Pro Glasses 3 is widely used in:
  • UX and ergonomics research (e.g. observing user interaction with a product, interface or space)
  • neuromarketing and consumer research (analysis of purchase behaviour, product display)
  • cognitive psychology (study of attention, perception and decision-making processes)
  • training and behavioural analysis (e.g. in aviation, medicine, the military or competitive sport)
  • education and didactics (e.g. observation of the learning process or the effectiveness of educational materials)
The glasses work with dedicated software that allows advanced data analysis. The tool allows for:
  • synchronisation of data with other systems (e.g. EEG, ECG, EMG)
  • visualisation of gaze trajectories and fixation points
  • automatic mapping of areas of interest (AOI)
  • export of data to formats compatible with other analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB, Python, Excel)
  • analysis of quantitative and qualitative data such as gaze time, number of fixations or gaze path
Tobii Pro Glasses 3 is one of the most advanced tools for visual perception testing in the wild. It combines the precision of eye-tracking technology with ease of use and analytical versatility. For researchers, trainers, marketers and UX specialists, it provides an indispensable source of data on what attracts human attention, how users make decisions and how they interact with the world around them. It turns out that, in many cases, the results of research and analysis are quite different from previously accepted assumptions about how human attention functions and what people focus on at any given time.

The DIPOL photo competition is about to finish.

Installation of SMATV in a hotel - TERRA system.

In one of the hotels in Gorzow Wielkopolski, a modern television installation has been realized, based on TERRA solutions. The heart of the system is the headend, consisting of PA-321 TP R82513 channel amplifier for DVB-T2 signals and TDX-441 R81614 transmodulator, which enables conversion of DVB-S/S2 satellite signals of FTA type (free to air) into DVB-T standard. This provides the distribution network with uniform terrestrial multiplexes, available in every hotel room without the need for additional decoders. The installation has been designed with reliability and guest comfort in mind. Each hotel TV receives a wide range of channels in the highest quality. There is no need for additional receivers.
A complete antenna set has been installed as part of the project, consisting of: a FAMAVAL 110 cm satellite dish A9659, a system of two Inverto wideband converters A98233 enabling reception of signals from two satellite positions, a DIPOL directional antenna for the UHF Tri Digit DVB-T2 band A2670, a DIPOL-4 VHF antenna A0140 for reception of MUX-8 in the VHF band, and a Dipol 1RZ PM B radio antenna A0222. The antennas were installed on a 3 m high, 50 mm diameter mast E905131. An OMP-50R45-70 E8535 adjustable masonry clamp was used to secure the mast, providing a stable base for the entire antenna array.
The headend has been installed in a RACK cabinet. The PA-321 TPR81513 TERRA amplifier with AGC digitally programmed provides reception and selective amplification of all DVB-T2 digital terrestrial TV multiplexes. The TDX-441 R81614 transmodulator converts DVB-S/S2 signal from 8 satellite transponders to 4 DVB-T COFDM multiplexes, thus enabling the introduction of approximately 12 FTA satellite programmes. Noteworthy is the installation of the SRM-522 R80522 multiswitch, from which the signal is fed to the transmodulator via a single cable. Communication between TDX-441 R81614 and the SRM-522 R80522 multiswitch is performed in dSCR mode, which allows to receive signals from 2 satellite positions for different pairs: polarization-band.

Splicer for the CCTV installer.

Installers of security systems including video surveillance systems most often carry out installations based on copper cables. Occasionally, installation requirements such as transmission distance or the need to ensure galvanic separation of the network dictate the use of fibre optic cables.
In this case - where fibre splicing is done occasionally, a good choice in terms of purchasing a splicer would be the Signal Fire Ai-5 L5872. It is clearly cheaper than other splicing machines on the market. The technologies used in this device (fibre positioning, magnification, etc.) are completely sufficient to correctly and permanently splice fibre in this type of installation. Installers who will use the splicer only occasionally will not feel any discomfort due to the slightly poorer accessories. The soft case in place of a hard case and the lack of a set of spare electrodes (the electrodes installed will allow about 3,000 splices to be made) are features that occasional users should not worry about. The battery, which allows 160 splices on a single charge, will allow even large buses to be spliced in video surveillance systems.

Application of outdoor twisted pair cables.

Outdoor telecom cables most often have a sheath made of polyethylene (PE), which, compared to the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) used in indoor cables, is characterised by significantly greater hardness and mechanical strength. Last but not least, polyethylene has a high resistance to UV radiation, thanks to which cables made of this material are much more durable in outdoor conditions, especially in the case of prolonged exposure to sunlight.
The video below shows a typical problem resulting from the use of a PVC sheathed cable to connect an outdoor antenna to a router. The cable, which is run along the façade of a building, is exposed to varying weather conditions - high and low temperatures, solar radiation and rainfall. In such conditions, the PVC sheath starts to crack after just a few years of use.
As a result, water penetrates the cable, which - under the influence of gravity - can get all the way into the router. This scenario poses a real risk of damage to the device itself and, in the case of greater moisture, also to other elements in its vicinity, such as furniture.
Water leaking from the cable can be the result of using an indoor twisted-pair cable on the outside of the building. Installers mitigate the effects of cable breaks by creating loops that prevent water from flowing downward, but this is an ad hoc measure. It will be more reliable to combine these measures with the use of the right kind of cabling.

DIPOL offers the following types of outdoor twisted pair cables:
  • NETSET U/UTP 5e cable gel-filled, black twisted pair, outdoor E1410_305

Antenna cable for 5G. Systems used to improve the signal of a mobile network operator use antennas with an impedance of 50 Ω. This is the standard impedance value in RF paths used in mobile telecommunications. Consequently, all components of the RF (Radio Frequency) path - including coaxial cables, connectors, adapters and connectors - must also meet the same impedance parameter. Therefore, the use of coaxial cables with an impedance of 75 Ω (typical for terrestrial or satellite TV installations) is unacceptable, as this causes an impedance mismatch, leading to signal losses, wave reflections...>>>more
