Camera ring will let you control your home devices.
While the number of smart systems in our homes continues to grow, starting with audio, lighting or temperature control systems, to more advanced systems such as those integrating smart monitoring with automation processes, the ways to control them remain relatively unchanged. Typically, control is via a phone or other touch panel, which can be time-consuming – you have to launch an app, find the right option, etc. – or via voice messages. This, in turn, is sometimes unreliable. These problems have been addressed by researchers at the University of Washington who have developed IRIS, a smart ring that allows users to control devices by pointing a small camera at a specific device and then pressing a built-in button. The prototype Bluetooth ring sends an image of the selected device to the user's phone, which controls it. The user can then adjust the device with the push of a button, and for devices with gradient controls, such as the volume on a speaker, the device can be adjusted by rotating it with the hand. The interactive ring, when charged, can operate for 16 to 24 hours.

The team decided to put the system in the ring because they believed users would wear it all day. A major challenge was integrating the camera into the wireless smart ring, given its small size and power limitations. The system also had to switch devices in less than a second, that is, fast enough so that users would not feel like it was not working. To do this, the ring must compress the image before sending it to the phone. Instead of streaming images all the time, the ring is activated when the user presses a button, and then turns off after 3 seconds of inactivity. In a study with 23 participants, twice as many people preferred IRIS over the voice command system itself (in this case, Apple's Siri). IRIS controlled home devices on average more than two seconds faster than voice commands.
New GUI in Sunell IP cameras.
A new update (v5.0 – available in camera datasheets) redesigns the graphical interface (GUI) of cameras accessible from a web browser. It has been designed for users who expect intuitiveness, aesthetics and speed. The interface boasts a simple and clear layout. This allows users to easily navigate between such functions as:- live view
- recording history
- intelligent image analysis settings
- camera settings
The performance-optimized interface uses modern web technologies to guarantee faster performance and almost instantaneous response to user commands. An additional advantage is its availability without the need to install additional plug-ins or software – everything runs in the browser for convenience and ease of use.
The operation and design of the new interface is shown in the short video below (note – it has been adjusted to fit the width of our Informer).

Home monitoring using Hikvision IP system.
The diagram below shows a monitoring system for a single-family home based on Hikvision DS-2CD2047G2H-LI K03210 hybrid IP cameras from the EasyIP 4.0 series. The cameras are equipped with a 4 MP sensor with a fixed focal length of 2.8 mm, which provides a wide viewing angle of 104°. The described model is a hybrid camera with IR and white light illumination with ColorVu and AcuSense technology. Thanks to these features, the camera can monitor the area in color mode around the clock and operate in intelligent illumination mode. It can virtually eliminate false alarms and only provide the user with information on events that meet the human or vehicle type criteria. The used 1/1.8” sensor provides very good image quality even in poor lighting conditions. The DS-7604NXI-K1 (D) K22031 NVR is used for recording events. The 6-port PoE switch N29978 has been used to establish communication between the devices and power the cameras. The NVR uses the WD Purple M89270 hard drive with a capacity of 2 TB. Support of H.265 compression by the DVR and cameras , allows to store the recordings of 11 days at 25 fps. To access the system from the local and external network, the recorder has been connected to the Mercusys AC12G N2933 router. Locally, the images will be displayed on Hikvision DS-D5022FN00 M29121 monitor. With to the support the Hik-Connect cloud by Hikvision devices, access from an external network is extremely easy and does not require advanced knowledge of network issues.
Fiber optic overhead line – LINEO bracket.
Self-supporting fiber optics (ADSS – All Dielectric Self-Supporting) with a diameter of about 3 mm are most often used in the implementation of subscriber connections. Such an optical fiber is fed to the subscriber's house from the nearest pole, and on both sides of the connection the so-called guying bracket is installed. Such optical fibers, due to their low price, simple design and relatively small number of fibers, are also used in CCTV systems, where part of the cabling is run overhead.
LINEO E857523 guying bracket
The LINEO E857523 bracket is designed for the implementation of overhead lines based on cables up to 3.5 mm in diameter. The unique feature of the bracket that distinguishes it from other similar designs is the ability to pull the cable from the ground, rather than from a ladder at the pole. This means that the length and tension level of the cable span can be adjusted after the cable is system in the holder. This is a very convenient and quicker system. At the same time, the bracket is durable and weatherproof.
Wi-Fi in a restaurant.
These days, Internet access has become an integral part of restaurant service offerings. Due to increasing customer expectations, restaurants are increasingly choosing to provide Wi-Fi for their guests. To ensure comfortable use of the net, it is necessary to meet certain requirements regarding infrastructure, security and connection quality. When the system is inside a building the best choice is the TP-LINK EAP620 HD N25691 access point. The device operates in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. With this type of device, it is important to remember that the maximum number of users connected to a single access point is more important than the range. It is recommended not to exceed 50 users to one device in one band (if the device has 2.4 and 5 GHz, you can connect up to 100 users).
With the Load Balance function, the device will automatically switch users to a less busy access point when the maximum set number of users is exceeded. The function also allows users to switch to devices with a stronger signal – for example, when a user moves from one restaurant room to another. Another important function is Band Steering enabling even distribution of users between 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
A network based on Omada series devices will also provide security through encryption of wireless transmission. The restaurant administrator himself chooses the method and validity of specific security.

TandemVu IP PTZ Camera Hikvision DS-2SE4C425MWG-E(14F0) (4 MP, AcuSense, ColorVu) The K17962 is a hybrid camera from Hikvision's TandemVu series, which combines the advantages of a fixed wide-angle panoramic camera and a PTZ camera. The fixed module allows you to observe a wide area, while the PTZ module allows you to zoom in precisely to observe details. The PTZ camera allows you to watch the area outside the field of view of the fixed camera. The model described here is equipped with AcuSense technology, based on a deep learning algorithm that allows human and vehicle objects to be filtered out, resulting in greater operational efficiency and reduced false alarms. The fixed module is equipped with ColorVu technology and has a 4 MP sensor with a focal length of 2.8 mm. The PTZ module has a 4 Mpix sensor with a focal length of 55° – 2.4°.

Hikvision DS-2CE16K0T-LPFS 4-in-1 tube camera (5 Mpix, 2.8mm, 0.01 lux, microphone, IR up to 25m, white light 20m) M74346 can operate in HD-TVI, HD-CVI, AHD and analog CVBS systems. The operating system is selected by a microswitch located on the cable. The camera generates images with a resolution of 1080p. A distinguishing feature is the hybrid illuminator with intelligent switching, which consists of an IR illuminator and white light. It is possible to select one of three low-light modes: IR, white light or smart mode.
