New energy storage technology – sodium-ion cells.

The Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt, in cooperation with Altris, has developed its first sodium-ion battery with a capacity of 160 Wh/kg. The new cell type is expected to be a model for next-generation energy storage solutions. Its low cost, longer life and safety at high temperatures make the technology particularly attractive for energy storage solutions in such markets as India, the Middle East and Africa. This performance level makes the technology competitive against conventional cells containing nickel, manganese and cobalt (NMC) or ferric phosphate (LFP). Another advantage of next-generation cells is that they are produced from minerals such as iron and sodium, which are easily sourced in global markets.
Northvolt plans to be the first to commercialize batteries based on Prussian white (a compound of sodium and iron) and bring them to commercial markets. The innovative cell consists of a hard carbon anode and a cathode based on the Prussian white, thus containing no lithium, nickel, cobalt or graphite. This advancement is crucial in the global push for sustainable energy solutions. Sodium-ion batteries offer an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional batteries.
###02##AS07STCA-4K certified meter for RF/SAT signals. In residential buildings, it must be verified that the RF/SAT system has been properly installed before acceptance by the inspector. It is verified whether the devices have been connected in the right way and whether no mistakes have been made in the design of the network, regarding, for example, the distances from heat emitting devices or in wet rooms. At the first stage of the inspection, it is also determined whether there is visible mechanical damage, and the condition of the cabling and connections is checked. All this information should be included in a report prepared before commissioning the system. Another important element is the measurement of terrestrial and satellite TV signals. For this purpose it is best to use a device that has the appropriate certificate.
DIPOL has introduced the DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2 AS07STCA-4K signal meter R10206 with built-in spectrum distribution analyzer and calibration certificate.
Professional signal meter AS07STCA-4K R10206 allows to measure DVB-S/DVB-S2 (4K) satellite signal, DVB-T/T2 (4K) terrestrial TV signal in HEVC 10 Bit compression and C/J.83B/ISDB-T cable signal. An unquestionable advantage of the device is its clear and easy-to-use user interface which makes it easy to work on a high-resolution 7" TFT-LCD touchscreen display. The AS07STCA-4K meter allows measurement of such parameters as signal level expressed in dBμV (measurement range 20...100 dBμV), MER, Link Margin, CBER, VBER, which allows setting up any terrestrial and satellite TV antenna, tuning filters, selecting amplifiers, etc. The meter has a built-in tuner that allows you to constantly view the channel being set in 4K resolution.
One of the most important advantages of the AS07STCA-4K R10206 meter is the detailed signal spectrum analyzer.

Ultimode G-10G/SFP+ - 10 Gbps media converter.

While the telecomm market registers the first commercial deployments of the 400 Gbps Ethernet standard, local networks in hotels, schools, offices, etc. increasingly require devices that implement connections at the 10 Gbps level. A new model of media converter has appeared in Dipol's offer: Ultimode G-10G/SFP+ L1307, in which SFP+ inserts can be installed: duplex: L1425, L1428 and BiDi: L1430, L1432.
ULTIMODE G-10G/SFP+ media converter
Media converter Ultimode 10 Gbps L1307 and SFP+ BiDi L1430 insert. LEDs allow you to verify the correct operation of the device. The 10G LED indicates 10 Gbps speed negotiation for a connection on a copper interface (twisted-pair cable). The L1307 behaves differently from the lower-speed Ultimode models in terms of LED operation. Here, when a media converter is connected to another device (a second media converter or switch) via fiber optic cable, the SD (Signal Detected) LED is lit, but the Link ACT LED is off. This one lights up only when the copper interfaces are connected to the correct devices (the Link LED also lights up in parallel).

Hikvision IP video intercom system in the guesthouse.

The following diagram shows a Hikvision IP video intercom system installed in a guesthouse, whose parking lot is divided into two zones: A and B. The parking zone A and the part of the guesthouse for guests includes the M2 monitor, SB(A1) door station for the F(A1) wicket and B(A1) entrance gate, SB(A2) door station for the D(A2) door. The parking zone B and the part of the guesthouse for guests includes the M1 monitor, SB(B1) door station for the F(B1) wicket and B(B1) entrance gate, SB(B2) door station for the D(B2) door. Each door station includes the main module with camera DS-KD8003-IME1(B) G73652, numeric keypad DS-KD-KP G73668, surface-mounted housing DS-KD-ACW2 G74354 and protective canopy DS-KABD8003-RS2 G74373. A Bira XS00U low-current electric door strike, powered directly from the door station, is used to control the gate. The entry gate is connected to the relay no. 2 of the door station. DS-KH6320-WTE1 G74001 are used as M1 and M2 monitors. All door stations are connected to an Ultipower 00108afat N29985 PoE switch, which powers the door stations and enables communication between the devices. Access to the devices from the Internet is via a Mercusys AC12G N2933 router.
The entire system should be configured so that from each door station it would be possible to call the M1 monitor operated by the owner, and so that the owner could control each gate and entrance gate on the property. Furthermore, the owner can view the image from each gate station and open the gate or entrance gate at any time, even if no one calls. The M2 monitor, can only be called from the gate stations located in zone A i.e. SB(A1) and SB(A2). Door stations in zone B should also not be visible on the M2 monitor. For the functionality described to work, the SB(A1) door station must be set as master and the door station SB(A2) must be set as slave to the door station SB(A1). In both, the M1 and M2 monitor, the SB(A1) should be indicated as the main IP address of the door station. The SB(B1) door station should also be set as the master and SB(B2) as the slave relative to the SB(B1) door station. However, in this case, the SB(B1) door station should be added to the M1 monitor in doorphone mode. After adding the M1 monitor to the Hik-Connect cloud and installing the Hik-Connect app on a smartphone, the system can be configured so that the owner has calls forwarded to the phone if no one answers the call after a set time. The owner can then remotely open the wicket or entrance gate to let a guest into the guesthouse. The owner can also make selected door stations available to the tenant to remotely operate the A zone while using it.

Basics of IP addressing – part 4: network gateway.

The gateway is a network device that acts as an entry point from one network to others. The host sends all packets directed to other hosts outside the local network to the default gateway (specifically to the gateway IP address) which means that a host without the default gateway address can only exchange packets with computers in the same local network. Due to the widespread use of the TCP/IP network, the concept of a gateway has become virtually parallel with a router.
The gateway is created at the network border to manage communication of all data exchanged between the internal network and the external ones. In general, for simple home networks, the gateway acts as a securing device for the local network while connecting it to public networks.
When setting an IP address for a gateway (from the local network side), the first available address in the pool of host addresses in the given network is usually used.
Hosts working in the LAN (network address 192.168.1.0/24)
use the gateway address 192.168.1.1 to communicate with the Internet.
