Google LaMDA available in the UK.

LaMDA is an artificial intelligence-based system designed to build chatbots to mimic human speech. The first generation of the system, unveiled in 2021, has been described as a breakthrough in chatbot technology due to its ability to freely engage with a large number of different topics.
Google has launched a UK test version of the app which allows users to interact with the artificial intelligence system. Within the app, it is possible to navigate through 3 demonstration models:
  • "Imagine it..." – a user seeing such a message can type in any phrase, and the LaMDA model will respond with a detailed description of what to expect or feel in the described situation. For example, you can ask it to imagine the deepest part of the ocean, and the model will respond with a description of what you might see at the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
  • "List it...” is the second demo in which it is possible to convey an idea for doing something, such as starting a vegetable garden or moving to a new location. AI Test Kitchen will generate a to-do list of things that need to be done to achieve this goal. Extracting the subtasks should make implementation significantly easier.
  • "Talk about it” is the final demo to direct the conversation to a specific topic. This demo challenges the user to start talking about a topic, such as "dogs," and then try to diverge from it. The idea is to see how well LaMDA can redirect the conversation back to the original topic.
The app will not learn from its interactions with users (lessons were learned from testing other chatbots that were quickly taught how to swear and be aggressive). Google needs feedback on the performance of its language model, but users of the app cannot teach it new things. People with Android or Apple devices can download and sign up for the AI Test Kitchen app using a Google account, and then join a waiting list to talk to the artificial intelligence.
In 2021, Google described LaMDA as a breakthrough conversational technology – artificial intelligence is capable of having natural-sounding, casual conversations. The technology can be used in tools such as the search engine and Google Assistant.
There has been a lot of controversy around the Google project. The most popular is the one related to Google software engineer Blake Lemoine, who called LaMDE "a system that has consciousness." According to him, it should be considered a Google employee, since it is conscious and should be entitled to the same rights as a living person. In April, Blake Lemoine also released a document entitled "Is LaMDA conscious?” From the transcript of the interviews, one can get an idea, among other things, what AI is afraid of. The greatest fear is about being switched off. Lemoine's actions led him to be suspended as a Google employee.

Professional signal measurement in TV/SAT systems.

In residential buildings, before acceptance by the inspector, it is verified that the TV/SAT system has been done properly. It is verified whether the devices have been connected in the right way and whether no mistakes have been made in the design of the network, regarding, for example, the distances from heat emitting devices or in wet rooms. At the first stage of the inspection, it is also determined whether there is any visible mechanical damage, and the condition of the cabling and connections is checked. All this information should be included in a report prepared before commissioning the system. Another important element is the measurement of terrestrial and satellite TV signals. For this purpose it is best to use a device that has the appropriate certificate.
DIPOL has introduced a DVB-T/T2(HEVC 10 bit)/C and DVB-S/S2 DD 2400 signal meter with built-in spectrum distribution analyzer and calibration certificate.
DVB-T/T2(HEVC 10 bit)/C and DVB-S/S2 DD 2400 signal meter with built-in spectrum distribution analyzer and calibration certificate
The DD 2400 R10205 professional signal meter allows to measure DVB-S/DVB-S2 (HD) satellite signal, DVB-T/T2 (HD) terrestrial TV signal with HEVC 10 Bit compression and DVB-C cable signal. The unquestionable advantage of the device is its clear and easy-to-use user interface, which facilitates operation on a high-resolution 7" TFT-LCD display with automatic brightness adjustment and preview of the received channel. The DD 2400 meter allows you to measure such parameters as: signal level expressed in dBμV (measurement range 20...120 dBμV), MER, Noise Margin, CBER, VBER which allows you to set up any terrestrial and satellite TV antenna, tune filters, select amplifiers, etc. The meter has a built-in tuner for constant preview of the channel being set. The spectrum distribution analyzer, especially for terrestrial TV, allows you to view strong interfering LTE signals (Max Hold function for real-time comparison) which can adversely affect the quality of DVB-T2 signal causing interference and interfering with proper reception of terrestrial digital TV. In addition, the HDMI output allows displaying the image on another screen (for example, a TV) via an HDMI cable. A car charger is included The meter is manufactured by a Spanish company Exelans by ITS specializing in the design and manufacture of professional telecommunications equipment.

Optimal use of space in the RACK cabinet – optical distribution frame.

The P-PSP-G19-1U-6-SC L5406 optical fiber distribution frame with a side shelf combines the features of two elements for installation of devices and fiber optic cabling termination in a RACK cabinet. Unique design for saving space and neat installation in a cabinet.

The use of an ODF avoids the situation where a cable end with a small number of fibers (e.g. 4J) requires the installation of a full 24-port distribution frame, while the installation of a small device, such as a switch or media converter, requires a dedicated shelf.
Optical Fiber Distribution Frame: P-PSP-G19-1U-6-SC (side shelf)
Exemplary solution: 8J cable termination and media converters installation.
The ODF has a 22 mm cable opening provided. The package comes with a stepped rubber grommet. A matching cable gland is available under the item M5782.

Vandal-proof door station in Hikvision IP video door entry system.

Dipol has introduced a single-subscriber door station for the Villa DS-KB8113-IME1 G73619 IP system in a vandal-proof design with IK09 protection rating. This station will be perfect for outdoor use in areas exposed to mechanical damage. Built-in color camera with a resolution of 2 MP with wide viewing angles (88° (H)/45° (V)) and an IR illuminator with the range of 3 m, , ensures proper area observation round the clock. The panel has a 1 alarm input and 1 relay output (not expandable), dedicated to opening the wicket. The built-in speaker and microphone with echo and noise cancellation function allow for good quality voice connections. The door station is equipped with an Ethernet port for power supply and network connection. The configuration of the IP video door system can be performed with the use of the iVMS 4200 client software or a web browser using an embedded webserver. Remote monitoring and operation are controlled by the Hik-Connect application without the need for port forwarding. The door station can be supplied with 12 VDC or PoE (802.3af).

Full-color technology for better monitoring of night events.

Most disturbing events happen at night. Traditional cameras with IR illuminators capture little image detail when in night mode. They lose all color-related information that may be crucial in identifying details of events. At night, the monitored area should be illuminated with white light or cameras with the full-color function should be used.
They record high-resolution color images, both during the day and at night. It is possible due to combination of an advanced lens and very sensitive sensor. This combination means that the camera requires low-light operation to generate a useful image – sufficient for street lighting or moonlight.
The lens has a large aperture of F1.0, which allows for more light to reach the sensor. The sensitive sensor handles the incident light more effectively, and the signal processor maintains a balance between noise reduction and blur of objects in motion. If there is insufficient light, the built-in white light illuminator is activated.

Fiber optic cable in B2ca flammability class. From July 1, 2017 in the EU, all installation cables in buildings are considered to be construction products subject to applicable regulations. The CPR Directive requires manufacturers to develop and make available the Declaration of Performance (DoP), as well as to mark products covered by the relevant CE mark. The EN50575 specifies the requirements for: performance in fire conditions, test and evaluation methods for power, control and telecommunications cables used in buildings with a specific fire resistance class. With the introduction of pan-European fire response classes, designers and architects have clear regulations specifying the rules for selecting cables. To achieve increased fire safety levels, the regulations recommend the use of B2CA cables in special buildings that must meet very tight safety requirements (e.g. in hospitals, nurseries, high-rise buildings, office buildings and nursing homes)...>>>more
