DVB-I alternative to DVB-T2 and DVB-S2? Germany says "now checking".
Huge interest from the media industry, German broadcasters, equipment manufacturers and software providers has led to intensive work in Germany to implement a standardized DVB-I standard. The project, which involves 19 organizations, aims to develop a consistent DVB-I system and eliminate its current shortcomings. At the moment, the greatest drawback of streaming is the long delay in transmission, which ranges from tens of seconds to even a few minutes. In the case of terrestrial, satellite or cable TV, delays reach only a few seconds. This makes streaming, for example, sporting events a big problem, as some viewers learn about a goal from the reaction of their neighbors and not from the TV screen. Another important aspect is the creation of a common list of services from different providers. For this purpose, a so-called aggregation service has been developed, which generates a national list of services for individual providers. To do this, each provider sends its list to the aggregation service's API. The service verifies technical consistency and adds it to the national service list. Regions and LCNs (logical channel numbers that define the order of services) are maintained separately in the aggregation service, so uniformity is ensured. Electronic program guides, on the other hand, are provided in a distributed manner, allowing each provider to provide up-to-date data without buffering or latency problems.Nineteen organizations are participating in the German DVB-I pilot program.
DVB-I was created to allow easy access to video streaming of linear programs over the Internet. The most important task now is to agree on a common understanding of the DVB-I standard with the participation of all market players involved. So far, not everyone realizes that we have a special opportunity here to prepare TV for the future. The pilot project has a limited duration and, for the time being, it does not include a launch decision in Germany.
DVB-T/T2 antennas of the SMART series – which one to choose?
Installer working in unknown regions often have several DVB-T/T2 antenna models to choose from – the ones with combiners and preamplifiers, installed in antenna boxes, if needed. Taking appropriate measurements with a special meter the optimum antenna for the location can be selected. What about customers wishing to choose and install TV antennas themselves? Unfortunately, they have had to take chance so far – to buy a passive version of the antenna and, if necessary, buy a preamplifier. Both in the case of the installer and the customer buying the antenna themselves, it was far from ideal solution.Using DIPOL SMART antennas the installer avoids troublesome replacement of the combiner for preamplifier and testing reception in different configurations. For SMART antennas, testing of various options is performed by switching on and off the power supply of the preamplifier at the meter. The installer can immediately verify whether additional boosting of signal level is needed in a specific location, and the final signal parameters offered by the antenna.
For those who wonder which model of SMART antenna to choose, we present a simple algorithm to help make the decision. Note that receiving of terrestrial television depends on a number of external factors and choosing an antenna according to the above instructions cannot guarantee 100% success. If your location is known to have problems with DVB-T2 signal reception you should use the services of a professional installer, who, if possible, will select an appropriate antenna, add extra components, if necessary, and provide complete information about the reception parameters for individual channels.
What is the maximum HD- CVI signal transmission range?
The HD-CVI system enables recording and transmission of high-resolution analog video over coaxial cable or twisted pair (after using special video transformers). Its key advantages include:- high resolution - up to 4K (8 MP),
- easy plug and play installation without having to configure the connection itself,
- high compatibility with other systems: AHD, HD-TVI and IP,
- long range of video transmission (500 m for 1080p signal using RG-59 cable, 300 m for UTP),
- transmission of 4 signals over a common cable (video, data for OSD and PTZ control, audio, power),
- no delays.

The solution to the problem can be the GDW-505 A6777 device which is used to amplify the GSM, DCS, 3G, LTE signal and bring it indoors. The repeater has to be connected with an external antenna, directed towards the base station of the operator, and to an internal antenna which will distribute the amplified signal.
An application in a detached house
In the deployment of indoor antennas one should pay attention to the number of rooms to be covered by the amplified signal and their surface area. During the installation it is important to keep in mind the long distance between the indoor and outdoor antennas (at least 5 m if there is an obstacle in the form of a ceiling or roof). In the case of roof installation, you should start from the lowest level as it is possible to cover two floors with a single antenna. Dipol has three antennas dedicated for signal repeaters. These are TRANS-DATA brand antennas: the A741001, A741002 and A741021 models.
The OMT-35 R96025 flush-mounted cable box is intended both for apartments in multifamily buildings and single-family homes. It is suitable for copper wiring (twisted pair cables, TV coaxial cables) and optical fibers, in any configuration. The box is divided into three compartments: a smaller one for keeping spare cables, a larger one to place passive (e.g. TV/SAT splitters) and active (RF amplifiers, cable modems) components of the home system, and an intermediate panel carrying connectors/adapters.
The panel is equipped with Keystone holes, so it is possible to use universal connectors of this type, usually in the version with an RJ-45 socket. In case the termination of the TV cabling (coaxial cable) and fiber optic cable is to be done with standard adapters, dedicated holes in the panel can be used for this, where F-F adapters and fiber optic adapters can be installed.

DIPOL's portfolio also features other models of home junction boxes. Which will work best for you depends on the size of the casing, the mounting type of cable-termination connectors, the availability of a 230 VAC outlet, and the available space for spare cables.
The Hikvision DS-2CD1347G0-L(C) K00504 is a cost-effective IP ceiling camera from Hikvision's ColorVu Lite series. With ColorVu technology, the camera can capture color images round the clock while retaining important identification details. In extreme conditions, a white light illuminator with a range of up to 30 m can automatically turn on and illuminate the scene to provide good quality color images. The camera is equipped with a 1/3” Progressive Scan CMOS sensor with a resolution of up 4 MP. The lens with a focal length of 2.8 mm allows viewing angles of 96.5°.
The 38 mm/2 m hot-dip galvanized steel antenna mast that can be combined /system A/ E9038201 is designed in such a way that it can be combined into a larger whole. Thanks to special embossing on the ends of the mast, it is possible to combine the elements with the keyway system over a length of 12 cm by driving another segment in such a way that the embossing overlaps. After combining, it is not possible to disconnect the segments.
+++The Hikvision DS-2CD2643G2-IZS++ K05157 compact IP ceiling camera is part of the EasyIP 2.0 Plus Series, which implements AcuSense technology based on the Deep Learning algorithm. Therefore, in case of motion detection events and VCA analysis (crossing a virtual line, detection of intrusion) there is a filter that allows you to classify objects of the human/vehicle type and filter out all other alarms that do not meet the criterion (rain, walking animals, moving trees, falling leaves, etc.).
