New 6G network speed record.

Researchers at China's Purple Mountain Laboratories in Nanjing conducted data transmission tests achieving a record speed of 206.25 Gbps. The tests were conducted using a frequency band of 360-430 GHz. According to the researchers, data transfer via 6G networks can be about 10-20 times faster than via 5G networks. The current data transfer speed record for 5G networks is just over 8 Gbps.
The study was conducted under a special government project in cooperation with Fudan University and telecom operator China Mobile. The tests are aimed at laying the technology foundation for 6G technology.

Purple Mountain researchers discovered that the bandwidth from 300 GHz to 3 THz can enable transmission speeds of 100 Gbps to 1 Tbps. Professor You Xiaohu of the Nanjing lab pointed out that such speeds will be fundamental for solutions such as AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality). Terahertz transmission can also be widely used for communications in space, such as between satellites or during satellite-to-Earth communications.

The DS-KD-KP G73668 keypad is dedicated to operate the Hikvision IP and 2-Wire video intercom system. It can be used to call the selected resident or to control the code lock. To call a selected apartment enter its number and confirm with the # button. To use the combination lock function, you must first program the opening code into the door station or the indoor station. The door station can store up to 16 public codes consisting of 4-6 digits. To open the wicket using the programmed code, enter the #set code # sequence with the keypad. If an individual code is set at the indoor station, which can be 6 digits long, the opening requires entering the sequence # apartment number, set code #.

Measuring the DVB-S/S2 satellite signal with Wideband technology.

To ensure proper reception of satellite TV, many users, who are afraid of setting up and installing a satellite dish on their own, use the services of an expert who is equipped with a professional meter. In fact, this is not a simple task for an inexperienced DIY enthusiast, and the proper adjustment of the antenna dish has a key impact on the quality of satellite signal reception. If the satellite signal is supplied to several receivers, multiswitches are used, to which cables from a quatro LNB should be connected. Such system requires 4 cables to be connected.

The ST-5150 R10842 meter measures satellite DVB-S/DVB-S2 (HD), terrestrial DVB-T/DVB-T2 (HD) and cable DVB-C signals.
What if 4 cables cannot be provided from the LNB to the multiswitch? The latest solution based on a Wideband LNB enables the reduction of four to two wires. The LNB used in multiswitch systems operating in the WideBand technology, unlike the Quatro LNBs standard, have two signal outputs (H polarization/V polarization). A system based on one satellite requires only two satellite cables from the LNB to the multiswitch. The GT-WB1 model A98222 is based on a single local 10.41 GHz oscillator providing excellent performance in the entire frequency range of 290...2340 MHz. GT-WB1 A98222 works with TERRA SRM522 R80522 multiswitch. And how to precisely align the satellite dish in this case? An ideal solution is to use the Signal ST-5150 R10842 meter capable of measuring signals in Wideband technology.

Twisted pair cable – shielding.

The use of electrical shielding makes the signal transmitted via the internal wires less susceptible to external interference and minimizes the emission of RF interference. However, the use of shielded cables requires the knowledge of proper shielding principles and electrical equipotential bonding of the building. The basic principle of shielding is proper grounding of the shield at both ends of the cable.

Fiber optic CCTV system – serial topology.

One of the questions most frequently asked by installers is the one about the possibility of connecting several camera points (poles) with one fiber optic cable. It is possible, but it should the choice of more experienced installers, equipped with the appropriate tools.
The cable that is run through the points has to have an adequate number of fibers - at least 2 fibers for each point. For example, 5 poles will need at least 10 fibers, so the application of a 12J cable (with12 fibers), or, for redundancy, a 16J or 24J cable. However, an excessive redundancy is not recommended as it will cause unnecessary effort.
One of the options to run a multi-fiber cable through the camera point is to cut it on the pole, separate two fibers for connecting the local transmission device and splice the rest of the fibers led to the next pole. This leads to the following conclusions:
  • the higher number of redundant fibers, the more extra work is needed, as the installer should splice all the fibers,
  • on the first pole, the installer has to splice all fibers,
  • on the last pole, the installer has to splice only the fibers connecting the point.

The approach that involves cutting the fibers to splice them may turn out to be pointless, but many installers with fast and professional splicers choose this option as it is independent of the cable structure. The cable is simply cut and the fibers are spliced with no attention to its reinforcement, the central tube diameter and whether it is present at all. Moreover, this allows for the use of most of the fiber optic joint boxes available on the market.

Installers who opt not to cut and splice the fibers can choose a method that requires a little more experience. With the MSAT-5 L5925 tool, it is possible to make an incision in the optical fiber tube, and then take the fibers selected out for a given camera point and splice them with pigtails. The other fibers then remain intact. Note, however, that this method may not work with every type of fiber optic cable. Find out more in our Library.
