OLED.EX from LG.

LG has solved the brightness problem for OLED matrix TVs. The new matrix type has been named OLED.EX. It is distinguished by wider viewing angles, higher brightness and better picture quality. The new TVs will debut at the CES 2022 fair. Although OLED technology is the mainstay of TVs on the market, it still cannot compete with QLED TVs in terms of brightness or wide color gamut coverage. LG claims it can improve brightness by 30% using deuterium (an isotope of hydrogen).
Deuterium is a naturally occurring isotope. It is known for its use in nuclear reactors as a component of a compound called deuterium oxide, or so-called "heavy water.”
The OLED EX matrix offers wider color coverage
and significantly higher brightness than in those used so far.
LG will also use new algorithms to stabilize OLED pixels so that the TV will predict the lighting patterns of millions of pixels and precisely run them. This will result in clearer bright and dark scenes. The new technology used to create the matrices will also increase the possibility for use in projectors – the bezel around the edge of the display could shrink to 4 mm from the current 6 mm.

Introducing Unicable/dSCR signal to classical multiswitch system.

Currently, there are lots of satellite receiver models available. Almost all of them support the SCR/Unicable system compliant with EN50494 and/or EN50607 using single-cable technology. The greatest advantage of this solution is the possibility to build branched systems, as in the case of terrestrial television. No star topology is required here. This means that the terrestrial television system can be easily adapted to the reception and distribution of satellite signals (taking into account the limitation of the number of users connected to one multiswitch).
The diagram above shows a hybrid multiswitch system. The traditional RF/SAT system has been supplemented with a new type of dSCR/Unicable multiswitches: SRQ-540 Terra with AGC R80540 and SRM-543 Terra with AGC R80543 allowing to split the RF/SAT signal using a splitter. Typical multiswitches have 4, 8, 12, 16, 24 and 32 outputs. In this case, the signal cannot be divided at the output of the multiswitch by a standard satellite splitter (operating band: 5-2400 MHz) due to two-way communication between the devices (tuner-multiswitch). The multi-room service requires also separate cables to be connected to each decoder. A solution to this problem is to use the dSCR/Unicable multiswitches.

Compact door station for Hikvision IP video intercom system.

DS-KV6113-WPE1(B) is a compact 1-subscriber door station for the Hikvision IP video intercom system with a built-in MIFARE tag reader. Due to its compact size, this model is ideal for installation in places with limited space, e.g. on narrow columns. The door station is equipped with an infrared illuminator with a range of up to 3 m to ensure visibility at night. It can communicate with the station in a wired fashion using the Ethernet interface or via Wi-Fi in the absence of dedicated cabling. The station is equipped with 1 relay dedicated to wicket control without the possibility of expansion. An unquestionable advantage of this door station is that after connecting it to the Internet, operation via a mobile application, such as call forwarding or remote wicket opening, is possible without installing an additional monitor.

Network communication with CyberPower UPS.

SNMP card is a remote management card that uses Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), a standard protocol for collecting and organizing information about managed devices in IP networks. It can be installed in devices equipped with an appropriate slot. It is most often found in models designed for installation in a 19" rack: N9702, N9706, N9716. When connected as a plug-and-play device, it allows users to monitor and control one or multiple UPS systems from any location, as well as to perform management tasks including scheduled shutdown, startup or restart.

Intuitive web-based user interface supports automatic event notifications via email, SNMP trap, Syslog, and text messages to notify of power problems and allow the user to take immediate action.

The user can conveniently find relevant information on the status of the device, configure advanced settings, and perform a battery test through the web interface.

Splicing programs in Signal Fire splicers.

Installers often ask if Signal Fire AI-8C L5870 and AI-9 L5875 splicers are capable of joining fibers of different standards: G.652D, G.657A1, G.657A2, G.657B3 or OM2, OM3, OM4 etc.
Signal Fire splicers have 3 splicing programs: SM (single mode), MM (multimode) and Auto (automatic) program. Within a given program, e.g. SM, it is possible to splice single-mode fibers of any standard. The practice shows that the same and different fibers can be spliced with very good results (e.g. G.652D with G.657A2). Similarly, the MM program will allow joining of any multimode fibers. The Auto mode allows both single mode and multimode fibers to be spliced without changing the splicer settings. This is convenient, while the performance of the joint may, but does not have to, be poorer.

Fusion Splicer: Signal Fire AI-9 (with toolbox and tools)
Signal Fire AI-8C L5870 and AI-9 L5875 splicers join optical fibers of different standards. What is important, to connect different types of optical fiber cables (single-mode and multi-mode), incompatibility of the fibers will be signaled.
More expensive models of fiber optic splicers from other manufacturers may have individual programs dedicated to specific fiber standards. However, as the installer’s practice shows, using them does not affect, or has a minimal beneficial effect on, the splicing. For that reason, most users opt for the fast automatic mode anyway.

Cat. 5e twisted pair cable with Cca fire resistance class.

The NETSET U/UTP cat.5e E1415_500 cable complies with the CPR directive and meets the European standard EN 50575, which sets out the requirements for the performance under fire conditions, test methods and evaluation of cables as construction materials.
According to guidelines of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers guidelines, CPR class Cca cable must be installed outside escape routes in the following buildings:
  • residential and community residences
  • high (25 to 55 m) and high-rise (more than 55 m) above ground level or residential with more than 9 to 18 overground storeys inclusive
  • having rooms intended for the simultaneous presence of more than 50 persons who are not their permanent occupants, and not intended primarily for the use of people with reduced mobility
  • primarily for the use of people with reduced mobility, such as hospitals, nurseries, kindergartens, homes for the elderly
  • commercial.
The requirements for using cables with a specific reaction to fire class in a given type of building should be based on a risk analysis made by the installation designer or other national formal and legal documents. The reaction to fire class of cables and other conductors installed within escape routes should not be less than B2ca-s1b, d1, a1. Therefore DIPOL recommends the NETSET U/UTP cat. 6 B2ca-s1a-d1-a1 E1615_500 cable.
Cat. 5e U/UTP Cable: NETSET U/UTP 5e Cca s1a,d1,a1 /500m/

The Hikvision DS-2CD2743G2-IZS (4 MP, 2.8-12 mm MZ, 0.005 lx, IR up to 40 m, WDR, H.265, Audio, AcuSense) K02817 ceiling-mounted IP camera is part of the EasyIP 2.0 Plus Series, which implements AcuSense technology based on the Deep Learning algorithm. Therefore, in case of motion detection events and VCA analysis (crossing a virtual line, detection of intrusion) there is a filter that allows you to classify objects of the human/vehicle type and filter out all other events that do not meet the criterion (rain, walking animals, moving trees, falling leaves, etc.). If the filter is not selected the events will be handled unclassified, as in the previous solutions.
