The 6G race.

The implementation and transition to the 5G is now underway. Meanwhile, research on the next standard for mobile broadband networks has reached an advanced stage. Samsung has even given an approximate time for 6G network deployment. According to its report, the new standard will hit the market in less than 10 years. The tech giant has suggested the dawn of the 6G network deployment in the years 2028-2030.
The leader in the 6G race based on the number of patents filed is China. According to data from the Cyber Creative Institute, of the approximately 20,000 6G-related patent applications filed by August 2021, 40.3% came from the Middle Kingdom. In second place are the United States with 35.2%. Samsung's home country, South Korea, is in fifth place behind Japan and Europe (countries together).

The most common 6G network patent applications are in the areas of data transmission, quantum technology, base stations, and artificial intelligence. The 6G network is estimated to be as much as ten times faster than the 5G.

Frequency refarming. DVB-T2/HEVC standard.

The 5G technology is the nearest future of the telecom market. However, for this to happen, appropriate infrastructure and allocation of RF bands is necessary. One of them, the 700 MHz band (694 MHz -790 MHz) is currently used to broadcast the DVB-T digital terrestrial television. In most EU countries, works are underway to organize the RF spectrum and make the provided bands available for telecommunications. To this end, the EU countries will have to free up the 700 MHz band and reorganize the DVB-T terrestrial multiplexes (frequency refarming) for the needs of mobile operators (5G services), as well as in connection with the transition to DVB-T2/HEVC broadcasting standard. Only TV sets capable of decoding so compressed picture and sound are able to correctly receive television programs. A number of DVB-T TV sets now in use are not equipped with a DVB-T2 decoder and can only display images encoded to AVC (also known as H.264 or MPEG-4 part 10), an older video coding standard. After the transition to DVB-T2/HEVC transmission standard, those TVs will no longer "recognize” the broadcast content and an external decoder will have to be purchased. The changes will not affect those recipients who use the cable TV signal or receive programs via satellite or the Internet.
When shopping for a new TV make sure it is able to decode DVB-T2 signals with the HEVC codec (also known as H.265 or MPEG-H part 2). The new TV should process sound encoded to the E-AC-3 standard.

How to get full access to monitoring devices via Microsoft Edge browser?

The Internet Explorer browser has been on the market for over 25 years and is considered by most CCTV manufacturers to be the default tool for configuration and video previews.
Manufacturers have been developing the HTML5-compatible, cross-browser software for a few years now, but they still face many problems, so some features are not active. July 2022 is coming fast, and this is the deadline for the withdrawal of support for IE on Windows systems. Windows 10 with future update 21H2 will hide or block the ability to use IE, while Windows 11 does not allow the use of this browser. How to deal with this problem? The best solution for high compatibility and to save memory is to use Microsoft Edge in the Internet Explorer mode. This ensures compatibility with ActiveX controls, or plug-ins, that you currently use. To switch to this mode, simply go to the browser settings after entering the IP address of your device and select "Reload in Internet Explorer mode".

SADP ( Search Active Device Protocol) is free and easy to use software designed to search for Hikvision IP cameras, DVRs and video intercoms on the local network. Using it you can modify their basic network parameters, activate devices and change or restore passwords. SADP is particularly useful when building large CCTV or video intercom systems. Newly purchased devices have to be activated by assigning passwords. In addition to that, the IP addresses of the devices are repeated so there would be a conflict of IP addresses when all of them were connected to the network at the same time. While in the case of a few devices it is possible to connect them one by one, activate and change IP address via a browser (if the device has built-in webserver), for large, e.g. CCTV systems with 32 IP cameras, it would be very laborious and time-consuming. After connecting all devices, SADP running on the local network will detect them as inactive. Selecting them all allows for a quick batch activation of the devices by assigning an administrator password. For DVRs, it is also necessary to enter the password for activating cameras. Upon acceptance, a window will appear confirming the activation of the devices.

When this step is finished, you can proceed to batch addressing of the devices. To do so, select all the devices and complete the network parameters, as shown in the following image. The devices will be addressed one by one starting from the IP address that has been entered. When the password with which the cameras have been activated is entered, a window with information about the changes will appear.

Antenna selection for LTE when supporting multiple bands – part 1.

When selecting an antenna, it is important to obtain information on the location of the nearest transmitters emitting signals in a particular standard. Such information is provided by customer service offices of the respective operators. It is also worth to verify the frequency of emission assigned to a particular service.
If the base station supports several bands, e.g. LTE800, LTE180, LTE2100, and the router has an aggregation function, a broadband antenna should be used. The antenna should be chosen according to the distance between the reception site and the operator's transmitter.
