Amazon Dash Cart – the intelligent shopping cart.
Amazon has presented a smart shopping cart that uses cameras and sensors to identify the items put inside by a customer. Named Amazon Dash Cart, the smart cart keeps a current list of products and then charges the customer's account on leaving the store without having to go through the checkout. The software also detects the products that have been removed from the cart and deletes them from the bill. Interestingly, the algorithm is also able to recognize an item other than the products available in the store, e.g. a coat or purse of the customer, which will be thrown into the basket. Similar solutions have already been tested in grocery stores, yet most of them required the customer to manually scan the product before putting it in the basket.The Amazon's first smart shopping cart will be available at the new Jeff Bezos supermarket in Los Angeles, scheduled to open later this year. The new store will be equipped with conventional cash registers, but customers wishing to use the cart will be able to simply go pass them and leave the store.
Hotel TV – SMATV, CATV signal headend.
Headends converting satellite programs from DVB-S/S2 to DVB-T COFDM signal are still the most popular solutions used in many hotels. Satellite channels can be an addition to the terrestrial television programs or be the only part of the package offered. No need to use more receivers (e.g. satellite receivers) for TVs, which makes this solution particularly attractive for hotels, guesthouses, apartments and hospitals. A new series of industrial mini switches.

Optimal use of space in the RACK cabinet – optical distribution frame.
The P-PSP-G19-1U-6-SC L5406 optical fiber distribution frame with a side shelf combines the features of two elements for installation of devices and fiber optic cabling termination in a RACK cabinet. Unique design for saving space and neat installation in a cabinet.The use of an ODF avoids the situation where a cable end with a small number of fibers (e.g. 4J) requires the installation of a full 24-port distribution frame, while the installation of a small device, such as a switch or media converter, requires a dedicated shelf.

How to use PoE for powering a 12 V camera and microphone?
Numerous systems are faced with the problem of powering an IP camera via PoE from one UTP cable and another device requiring 12 VDC supply (e.g. an external microphone or an infrared illuminator). This can be done with any PoE (802.3af or PASSIVE) switch and using one output and the PoE Atte ASDC-12-124-HS M18953 stabilizer. The device supplies power to the PoE output and has a 2.1/5.5 12 VDC plug. The maximum current at such output is 1 A at 12 V, however, the power limit available at the PoE output for the switch have to be considered while supplying both devices.Control of relays in the IP Villa 2 gen. door/gate station with external buttons.
Video intercom door/gate stations IP Villa 2nd generation (except for DS-KV6113-PE1/WPE1 and DS-KV6103-PE1), have 2 independently triggered built-in relays, which enable the control of e.g. a wicket or an entrance gate. By default, the second relay in the door/gate station is off and should be activated with the iVMS-4200 app or via a web browser. Those outputs can be triggered using the Hik-Connect mobile app, the iVMS-4200 PC application, indoor stations or after shorting to ground (GND) of AIN4 (DOOR2 relay activation) and AIN3 (DOOR1 relay activation) inputs. Those inputs are often used for the installation of local opening buttons, mounted at a safe distance so that they cannot be reached from outside the fence. The solution can open the wicket without a key, if no movable handle or knob is installed on the inner side.
