AI will create videos based on text description.
An international research group has developed a tool capable of generating videos based on text inputs and video repositories. To quickly create high-quality videos, users no longer need to have any video editing knowledge or use expensive software. The tool analyzes video recordings available in the repository and selects images that best match the text introduced by the user. Scene description is analyzed using NLP (natural language processing) techniques and semantic methods that allow to match words to appropriate shots. Subsequently, the video is optimized through automatic frame cuts and swaps. The scenes can be "manually" modified by using specific keywords to slow down the action or change the number of cuts.The recording is then visually optimized. The software selects the best shots in terms of framing, frame stabilization, and lighting. Each frame is subject to assessment; those with a higher rating stand a greater chance of making it to the final video. Users may check the quality of the generated recording and introduce changes at any time.
Researchers have tested their software on various video repositories, along with theme-related text documents. User tests have shown that lay people are able to use the tool to create high-quality editable videos faster than professionals using specialized video editing software.
Although they are of little importance from the perspective of human life and health, TV system failures can be highly inconvenient. Temporary power cuts may considerably increase system maintenance costs, while signal losses cause user dissatisfaction. To ensure the highest standard of TV networks, DIPOL offers a high-quality UP413 12V/4.5A R82533 power supply unit dedicated for use with TERRA's modular devices.
UP413 R82533 generates a 12 VDC current to power devices dedicated for the reception and processing of TV signals: channel and multiband amplifiers, headends using TERRA transmodulators and TERRA's IPTV system. When two units are used, the failure of one will not affect the operation of the entire system: the power supply will be instantly and automatically switched to the other power source.
Security certificates for CCTV network devices.
All monitoring systems that can be accessed via the Internet are vulnerable to the risk of cyberattacks. This applies both to strategic systems and simple installations. Hackers attempt to attack online devices taking advantage of privacy loopholes to get a preview or even take control of the hardware and e.g. use it for further attacks. Apart from introducing appropriate security measures, it is also essential that the devices are built based on state-of-the-art cybersecurity knowledge, attested to by certificates awarded to equipment producers by independent certification bodies. Hikvision products meet the leading security and data protection standards, including:
- ISO 270001,
- ISO 9001: 2008,
- CMMI Level 5,
- AICPA SOC,
- FIPS 140-2, which applies to data encryption in IP cameras and NVRs, and was commissioned by the US government.
Hikvision is also a member of FIRST (Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams), the most important organization specialized in security incident response and prevention, made up of nearly 400 teams from various companies that deal with cybersecurity issues. The members work in close cooperation, share their knowledge, monitor threats and develop solutions to enhance hardware security. Exchanging information on threats and attacks allows to quickly react to a variety of cyberthreats.
Mounting license plate recognition cameras.
To ensure maximum performance, license plate recognition cameras, such as e.g DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P (2.8 - 12 mm) K17893 or DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P (8 - 32 mm) K17894, should be properly mounted to capture the image of the license plate of the passing car. Before choosing the appropriate spot, the following aspects must be considered: the optimal viewing angle of the front of the vehicle, the number of pixels in the license plate, and the distance from the detection site. Below, you can find the basic installation requirements that must be met when mounting Hikvision license plate recognition cameras:- the width of the image of license plate should be within 130 - 300 pixels (optimum: 150-200 pixels);
- maximum vertical viewing angle: 30°;
- maximum horizontal viewing angle: 30°;
- the angle difference between the horizontal edge of the image and the horizontal edge of the plate (tilt) should not exceed +/-5°.
Vertical mounting method, where:
X - mounting height, Y - ground distance from the mounting site to the detection site, Z - actual distance from the camera to the detection site. | |
Optical fibers - WDM or duplex connections?
When selecting devices for fiber-optic transmission, installers can choose between those working with one (WDM) or two fibers (duplex). The choice is usually dictated by two factors: the availability of fibers in the cable and the price. However, it is also worth considering one more, strictly technical aspect: the use of one or two wavelengths.In the simplest form, WDM transmission uses two different wavelengths in one fiber (typically 1310 and 1550 nm, like in the case of the L11521 media converter). Duplex solutions use two fibers and only one wavelength (e.g. 1310 nm) in both. In each case, the characteristic feature of fiber optic transmission is the fact that different wavelengths are differently attenuated by the optical fiber. This also applies to macrobending attenuation, i.e. the attenuation caused by bends exceeding 2 mm in diameter. Generally, fiber bends cause substantially higher attenuation for longer wavelengths.
A graph showing the relationship between attenuation and wavelength for:
microbends (blue), macrobends with 20 mm (red) and 25 mm radius (green)
(The data come from studies conducted by Cabelcon)
microbends (blue), macrobends with 20 mm (red) and 25 mm radius (green)
(The data come from studies conducted by Cabelcon)
The graph shows that accidental fiber bending will result in different attenuation for different wavelengths - for example, a 20 mm bend does not cause significantly greater attenuation at 1310 nm, but in the case of 1550 nm, the attenuation of the bend will exceed 2 dB. Compared with the normal fiber attenuation of about 0.25 dB/km, the increase in loss is gigantic. What matters is thus the values as such and the differences between them.
Multiple HDMI transmitters in one network.
As per standard, only one HDMI-to-IP transmitter can be used in a single network. This is because the producer has set the same network configuration in each transmitter. Users cannot change the address settings of HDMI devices. As a result, if two transmitters are used, an IP address conflict occurs, which disrupts the operation of the network.A diagram showing two connected HDMI transmitters
The problem can be addressed by using a managed switch and creating dedicated VLANs. In the example above, switch parameters can be changed to create four streaming scenarios. In the system above, transmitter #1 is connected to port 1 on the switch, transmitter #2 to port 2, receiver #1 to port 11, and receiver #2 to port 12.

Camera signals in SMATV systems. The conversion of baseband audio-video (A/V) signals, generated by computers, DVD players, or security cameras, to radio frequency (RF) signals used in terrestrial TV systems requires the use of a modulator. The device is equipped with one pair or a set of A/V inputs (RCA, HDMI, etc., depending on its type) and an RF output (commonly known as the "antenna" output) and allows for audio and video playback on selected channels in all TV receivers connected to the system. From the point of view of the receiver, the program introduced into the system is recognized as yet another terrestrial television channel....>>>more
