Qualcomm tests 802.11ax.

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has begun testing two new SoC integrated circuits, IPQ8074 and QAC6290. They are the first complete commercial Wi-Fi solutions for IEEE 802.11ax amendment of the IEEE 802.11 set of WLAN types. This version of wireless standard, which is at an early stage of development, will focus not only on the speed of transmission, but also on the improvement of overall spectral efficiency in crowded Wi-Fi networks. The new standard should allow a fourfold increase of the user throughput compared to the current 802.11ac version. Thanks to the ability to deal with the diversity and density of the traffic generated by overlapping networks, 802.11ax routers will also be able to improve the performance of older Wi-Fi devices. Just like 802.11ac, the new 802.11ax standard will be backwards compatible with the previous 802.11 generations.
The IPQ8074 SoC is a highly integrated all-in-one platform designed for access points, gateways and routers. It is based on four Cortex A53 cores made in 14 nm technology and provides support for up to 12 data streams. The configurations include 8 streams in 5 GHz band (8x8 MU-MIMO) and four streams in 2.4 GHz band (4x4 MU-MIMO) with channels up to 80 MHz. The SoC IC is capable of handling total stream of 4.8 Gbps covering a larger area than any 802.11ac chip. The second SoC chip, QCA6290, dedicated for client devices, supports 2x2 MU-MIMO configuration. By implementing DBS (Simultaneous Dual Band), it can operate in two separate WI-Fi networks at the same time, using two frequency bands, 2.4 and 5 GHz. This way it will be possible to achieve bit rates up to 1.8 Gbps, and all this with the energy consumption at the level of only one third of that needed by 802.11ac chips. The first devices built on the new platform are likely to be available even before the official approval of the 802.11ax amendment planned for the year 2019.

The injection of video signal from an analog camera into TV antenna system is quite simple - it requires only the use of an RF modulator (e.g. MT-32 R871734). In the case of an IP camera, the output signal has a form of a data stream, and this method of providing the video to multiple TVs cannot work.
The problem can be solved by the application of DVB-T modulator SIGNAL-400 R86700, connected to HDMI output of an NVR, in this example K22041. The HDMI signal can carry Full HD surveillance video that modulates selected RF channel in compliance with DVB-T COFDM standard.

Of course, the source signal may also come from a multimedia player, DVR, Blu-ray player, PC, STB etc. The modulator can distribute high quality content in the form of DVB-T multiplex via typical RF coaxial cables used in antenna and CCTV systems.

Types of HDMI converters/extenders - part 3.

The H3608 Signal-HD HDMI to fiber optic converter allows for long-range (up to 20 km) transmission of HDMI signal via a single-mode fiber. Simultaneously, it ensures remote control of the HDMI source device by converting and transmitting commands from its IR remote control. The kit includes components for the both ends of the link - transmitter, receiver, power supplies, IR receiver and retransmitter.

EasySplicer - calibration of the position of fiber ends.

The toolkit provided together with EasySplicer L5810 contains the dedicated fiber cleaver. We recommend to use the cleaver due to the construction compatible with the holders of the splicer.

However, some installers may prefer to use a different cleaver, e.g. with an integrated trash can.
In such a case, the first issue is to verify the lengths of fiber sections after cleaving. The lengths have to be adjusted so that the ends are visible on the screen of the splicer (not necessarily symmetrically). Then, in the Setup menu the installer has to select FIBER POSITION. This procedure will precisely position the fiber ends for the splicing process. This position can be saved in the memory of the splicer. Since then, all identically cleft fibers will be ideally positioned before splicing.

The same function is also useful in the case of using the dedicated cleaver near the end of life of the blade or after its exchange.

Playing back recordings from HDDs.

Surveillance video recordings from HDDs istalled in Hikvisoion DVRs/NVRs cannot be directly played back by PCs running Widows systems. The reason is a proprietary format of the recorded data files. In order to play the recordings on a PC, the user has to employ Local playback application.

The program allows playback from up to 16 channels/cameras in two modes, synchronous and asynchronous. The recordings can be searched by date and time and filtered in terms of the type of recording, activation of an alarm input or VCA results. It is also possible to export any recordings to the HDD of the computer.

TV House Amplifier Terra HS-004L R82032 is a TV antenna amplifier with gain up to 39 dB (VHF) and 44 dB (UHF). This characteristics makes it ideal for shared antenna systems (MATV) with multiple outputs, up to 50 or so.
