Traveling between European capitals in 10 minutes?
Hyperloop, an extremely high-speed transportation project, is a combination of train and plane. According to the vision of American billionaire Elon Musk, a special capsule will move in a pipe with very low pressure - only 1% of the atmospheric value. As a result, the air resistance is almost completely eliminated. The vehicle is moved without contact with the ground using magnetic levitation and air cushion.Initially the project was to be implemented only in the United States - the route from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It turns out, however, that such trains may travel in Europe as well. The Slovak government signed an agreement with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies to "explore building a local Hyperloop", which would connect three European capitals, i.e. Vienna in Austria, Bratislava in Slovakia, and Budapest in Hungary.
Visions of rapid trips in capsules have caused excitement among scientists and engineers for a long time. In 2013, Elon Musk started the process of implementing such a vision into life and there are many indications that it will be a success.
The prospective travel times catch the imagination. The 56-kilometer route from Bratislava to Vienna could be covered within 8 minutes, and the 160-kilometer distance between Bratislava and Budapest only 2 minutes longer. Hyperloop could also connect Bratislava with Kosice, the second largest city in Slovakia. The 400 km travel should then take only 25 minutes (it takes about 4.5 hours by car).
According to preliminary assumptions, the transport system will be entirely placed on poles. It will mainly consist of a tube, creating the track for a capsule holding around 28 people, and running at a speed of about 1200 km/h. The passengers will have to travel in a half-lying position, without the possibility to walk around the capsule. Beautiful views displayed on the walls of the capsule will add variety to the journeys. We look forward to traveling the first line!
PTZ cameras in analog CCTV systems.
Rotating cameras are important components of advanced video surveillance systems. PTZ cameras, aside from rotation in horizontal plane (pan) can adjust the field of view by vertical rotation (tilt) and zooming, both optical and digital. From the point of view of the operator, an important feature of such a camera is a latency time, i.e. the lag between the movement of the joystick and the change of the image on the monitor, which is the sum of the delay in the reaction of the camera and the delay in displaying the new image on the monitor. Analog PTZ cameras, due to simpler signal processing, have low latency times, usually not perceptible, which makes them "user friendly" for operators.Additionally, PTZ cameras based on HD-TVI standard can be easily installed. There is no need for another cable transmitting control signals, as they are provided by the same coaxial cable used for video transmission.

As an example, the promotional set No.2 composed of DS-7204HGHI-SH M75204 DVR and four DS-2CE56D1T-IRM M7508 cameras can be recommended for video monitoring of a small house. The high resolution cameras (1920x1080 pixels) provide high quality images with excellent detail. Thanks to lenses with wide viewing angle, they can monitor whole rooms. The cameras are small and aesthetic, well suited for indoor applications. At the same time, they meet requirements of IP66 protection, so the same cameras can also be installed outside the house. In the case of a larger house or the need for a greater number of cameras, the suitable set is M7708 with a DVR with 8 inputs, or M7710 with 16- input DVR. The number of additional cameras that should be bought separately depends on the needs and is only limited by the number of DVR inputs.
Sunell IP cameras - the use of alarm output triggered by motion detection.
Sunell IP cameras with alarm outputs can be configured so that the output is triggered by motion detection in the monitored area. This function can be used e.g. for lighting control, switching on optical or acoustic signaling, or sending information about the event to any system. To use this functionality, the user needs to log in to the camera via a web browser to configure it.Control of lighting with the use of alarm output of Sunell IP camera, triggered by motion detection
The configuration starts in Alarm -> Motion detection alarm submenu. The user has to activate motion detection alarm along with active periods (schedule). The next step is to go to Alarm In/Out window, select the suitable alarm output and its operation mode (continuous or pulse), and set the switch-on period for the continuous mode (0-999999 ms) or adjust the pulse parameters.
SMATV system in apartment building with four staircases.
Multiswitch installations in multifamily buildings must be carefully designed. In the calculations, the input parameters are: network topology, type and number of the multiswitches, the type of cable used (attenuation) and the lengths of its sections. The designer has to select the system components so that signal levels in all antenna outlets are within the recommended range.Below we present a design of such a system created with the use of SatNet software. The system in a residential building with 64 apartments situated on four floors in 4 staircases, is based on TERRA multiswitches of MV-9XX series with die-cast housings having increased screening efficiency (class A). The signal lines are split for the subnetwork in each staircase with the use of 9-path SAT/TV splitters and SAT/TV taps with appropriate attenuation levels.
The layout of the system: 9-cable bus runs from the master antenna on the roof of the building to the amplifier located in the upper part of the outermost staircase, then is led downwards in the vertical cable duct to the basement level, split and led horizontally to other staircases. Each staircase is equipped with installation box with SAT/TV splitter/tap and MV-916L R70866 multiswitch for distribution of the signals to outlets in apartments located in the staircase.
WLAN networks in warehouses.
One should distinguish two types of storage facilities, the first with fairly uniform propagation of radio waves, and the second, where machines or racks strongly affect the propagation of the signal. In the first case, it is often possible to use a single access point, e.g. TP-LINK EAP110 N2562, which installed in the center of the facility covers the whole area.In the second case, one should take into account the location of objects which are obstacles to the propagation of the signal. Proper coverage can be achieved using a number of access points, for example TP-LINK EAP120 N2564. The number and locations of the APs should usually be determined experimentally. Because all the APs form a single network, there will be no need for additional logging when switching between them. The distinguishing feature of the solution with TP-LINK EAP120 N2564 APs is EAP Controller Software enabling centralized configuration and management of the wireless network composed of multiple EAP devices (via a web browser). The functions include real-time monitoring, graphical analysis of network traffic and batch firmware updates.

FTTH - the use of universal and indoor cables.
Buildings are usually connected to fiber-optic infrastructure via universal cables, gel-filled and with jackets resistant to UV radiation. Despite the fact that the cables have LSOH jackets and can be installed inside buildings, the change of the kind of the optical cable at the entry to a building into an indoor version may be a good idea due to the lack of gel and easier installation. The change of the kind of optical cable from universal to indoor is always connected with the installation of a box protecting the splices (above: Ultimode L5408).
A modest expenditure on the box and necessary accessories will surely be rational, taking into consideration the further implementation of the network in the building. There will be no problems with leaking gel, and a cable with G.657A2 fibers will allow for easier installation work, thanks to a reduced bending radius.

Overlay Character Generator FG-50HD M1725 links point of sale terminals (POS) with CCTV cameras to produce a continuous overlay of transactions superimposed on the video output. The FG-50HD character generator acts as a looping device, with CCTV video signal input and output. The Cash Register/POS data is overlaid on the video image provided by the video output. The device can be used in CCTV systems of the following video standards: PAL, AHD, HD-CVI, HD-TVI. In the case of HD standards, it supports both 720p and 1080p resolutions. | ||

Gel-filled twisted-pair cables - some advice for installers. Twisted-pair (balanced) cables are used to transmit signals in telecommunication systems and computer networks. Currently they are mainly used in telephony and Ethernet networks. Twisted-pair cables may consist of one or more pairs. The twisting strongly reduces the influence of external electromagnetic interference and mutual interference between the pairs, called crosstalk... >>>more
