Project Tango already in Europe.
Until last month, the Project Tango software developed by Google could be bought only in the US, now it is also available in the UK for only £ 256. Its premiere took place more than a year ago when Google unveiled a smartphone equipped with a set of sensors and dedicated software.Project Tango is designed to allow smartphones to map their environment in 3D. An inconspicuous smartphone is equipped with built-in scanning system performing quarter of a million measurements per second. A proprietary software generates images of the 3D environment. The tool can be used, e.g. to create spatial maps to help user to navigate in unfamiliar surroundings. This technology is especially interesting for armed forces, fire brigades and the visually impaired.
The potential of Project Tango is probably not fully recognized by its creator, Google. The increasing popularity, which is also the result of providing software development kits to developers in other countries, will certainly abound in multiple applications. An example application might be the facilitation of the production of games just by "moving" 3D objects and entire rooms or other environments to the virtual world. Google is also working with NASA, believing that Project Tango can help pave the way for the development of space robots.
F MASTER connectors in TV antenna systems.
F-type connectors are used for making connections in antenna systems based on coaxial cables with 75 Ω impedance. These are usually terrestrial TV, SAT TV, and CATV installations, and sometimes CCTV systems. The connectors are available in straight and angled versions. Their design and quality have a direct impact on the reliability, stability and performance of the connections - signal loss and impedance matching. The highest quality MASTER compression connectors ensure long-term and reliable operation in even the harshest conditions.DIPOL has recently introduced F MASTER E80345 compression connector dedicated for DIPOLNET Tri-Shield E1220 cable of RG6 category. Similarly to other connectors of MASTER series, double compression rings (on the cable and the O-ring seal on the connector side) fully protect the cable and the connection (also the equipment) against water penetration. Dimensions of the compression elements of the E80345 connector have been specially designed for use on cables with triple shielding.
Appropriate design and excellent precision ensure easy installation of the connectors. Precise thread eliminates problems with screwing the connectors on sockets, which can happen with other plugs. The compression method of installation on cables provides high mechanical strength, tightness and stability over time. The straight connectors should be compressed with the E80075 universal compression tool, and the angle connectors with the E80078 tool.
How to supply power to IP devices?
The most popular PoE 802.3af standard is implemented in the majority of IP CCTV cameras. The standard allows for use of DC supplying voltage in the 44-57 V range, with maximum load of 15.4 W. In the case of 802.3at version, the input voltage range is 50-57 VDC, and the maximum consumed power is limited to 25.5 W, which allows for supplying power to some printers, PTZ cameras, network switches.ULTIPOWER PoE switches enable smooth data transmission and power supply of the connected IP PoE devices. For example, the N29982 switch has nine RJ45 ports supporting auto-negotiation function, eight of them provide power over Ethernet (PoE). The switch automatically detects PD devices compliant with IEEE 802.3af standard and provides them with power supply. This feature allows the user to expand the network coverage in areas where there is no access to AC power lines/outlets and to employ access points, IP cameras, IP phones, etc.

Marking of optical cables.
Fiber-optic communication lines are typically used at very large distances. The proper identification of individual links is a necessary condition for the maintenance of the network. All the cables, running next to each other, have to be individually labelled. At any administration point in a cabling infrastructure, accurate labels are essential. They identify each cable and tell technicians where the other end of the cable is terminated. An example of labels for optical cables and links is the information tag L5562. The plate is made of durable plastic and has 6 holes for cable ties used for securing it to the cable(s). The plastic is resistant to severe weather conditions such as frost and moisture, typical for ducts in the ground. Thanks to small dimensions, the tag can be placed on any section of the cable, and the bright color makes it easy to find it. The use of tags is usually required by law and/or the investor.
Video surveillance of an apartment house based on Hikvision IP CCTV system.
The diagram of the system composed of Hikvision cameras and NVR is shown below. The building is protected by ten K1764 IP cameras with 3 MP image resolution mounted outside, and by six K1721 IP 3 MP cameras mounted inside in each of the staircases and directed towards the entrance door. Such deployment of the cameras allows accurate identification of people entering the house and coverage of any attempts of illegal activities or acts of vandalism outside the building. The cameras are connected to the N29986 16-port PoE switch that is also responsible for supplying power to them. The video streams from the cameras are recorded by the K22161 NVR equipped with two M89285 HDDs, each with capacity of 3 TB. The M3022 monitor allows for real-time monitoring and for playback of archives. After using the N3253 wireless router, the users of the system can have access to the images via Wi-Fi network or via the Internet (it requires port forwarding). All the components of the IP system can be connected with the use of E1408 Cat 5e UTP cable.

Operation modes in Sunell IP cameras.
Since firmware version 1.9, Sunell IP cameras are fully configurable in terms of operation in a variety of lighting conditions. Aside from the selection of an operation mode (automatic, color, B/W, scheduled), the administrator can set switching thresholds and time delays between switching operations.A proper configuration of the switching thresholds is important to avoid situations when a camera stays too long in color mode. In low light, the camera generates in this mode a lot of noise that carries no information but significantly increases bitrate.
Another option is switching the camera mode according to a schedule. With this option, the administrator can set the hours of the day and night operation modes.
Aluminum Mast/Tower Section MK, 1.5 m E9160 is 1.5m-high lattice construction made of aluminum. The design with triangular cross-section (in a vertical projection - see the bottom view picture) with three sides of 250 mm is exceptionally strong, but light and easy to handle, even with one hand. The support elements are aluminum tubes with an outside diameter of 35 mm and 1.5 mm thick walls. The MK sections can be joined together to form free-standing masts/towers up to 6-meter high (without guys), capable of supporting the weight of the installer climbing up.
Fte eXcellento SINGLE LNB (0.1dB, "L", black) A9862 is a single universal LNB with one fullband output, dedicated for operation with single-tuner satellite receivers. The LNB features very low noise figure (<0.1 dB) and high gain (52...65 dB).
TVI-FO Video Converter ULTIMODE HDTVI-208) L2080 transmits eight video channels from HD-TVI or PAL cameras via one optical fiber, over distance up to 20 km. Thanks to much wider bandwidth compared to traditional (PAL) video converters, the set can transmit HD-TVI signals, both in 720p and 1080p resolution. The L2080 set contains 2 modules, video transmitter and video receiver, and accessories (AC power cords, rack-mount components).

How to make use of alarm sensors in a video surveillance system? The appropriate configuration of video recording in a CCTV system is especially vital in the case of small disk space. Usually, the most effective way of using the space is triggering the recording by motion detection, the feature embedded in security cameras or in the DVR. In some cases it is not the ideal solution, since the detection based on image analysis may cause many false alarms and unnecessary recording... >>>more
