More rapidly than by fiber!
Aoptix, American company with experience in building laser links for the U.S. military forces, links operating at distances of up to 200 km and characterized by a bandwidth of 10 Gbps, has decided to extend the scope of its activities for the civil market, that is for professional stock market players. This innovative solution will allow for data transmission with delays much shorter than in fiber optic systems, at comparable data transfer rates.

High Frequency Trading (HFT) is based on rapid buying and selling of assets. A reduction of the latency of transaction systems by every millisecond may translate into the opportunity to earn millions by the players using this technique. The key for the success in the business is to quickly find the right assets, buy and sell them usually at low profit but many times an hour, a minute or even a second, before the competitors. The whole process is controlled by software installed on computers and a single transaction can take no more than a few milliseconds. The development of telecommunications technologies that reduce data latency is therefore the key factor for the companies operating in the global stock and currency markets.
Work is currently underway to connect London and Tokyo with three fiber-optic cables. This will allow for reduction of the transmission delay between the financial centers from 230 ms to 170 ms. The project costs $1.5 billion. The new Hibernian Express transatlantic cable between London and New York ($ 300 million) will reduce the round-trip delay (RTD) time from 65 ms to 59 ms. There are investors who are willing to pay more for such reductions measured in milliseconds.

The undertakings to reduce the transmission delays through the use of wireless networks do not focus solely on laser technology. American operator Perseus Telecom has just completed the construction of a wireless microwave link connecting London and Frankfurt. The time required to transmit packets in in both directions (RTD) is only 4.6 ms which is about half the time when the data travels via optical fiber. The secret of the ultra-low latency is the precision in positioning multiple antennas and elimination of intermediate devices.
Aoptix claims that the lasers will replace the currently used microwave links between base stations of cellular networks, offering six times the capacity and twice the range. Laser links built by Aoptix are to be resistant to the weather, including rain and snow, so eliminating the big problem of the current laser solutions.
The most important parameter is the load capacity that has to be at least the same as the weight of the TV/monitor (a safety margin is highly recommended). This issue is basic for the security of the equipment and the viewers.
The second criterion is the mounting standard (FDMI / MIS). TV/monitor mounts/brackets usually have hole patterns that are compliant with VESA mounting standards. Although it is possible to use adapters, the users should definitely purchase brackets that fit the patterns of their flat panels.
The third important parameter is the screen size range. It may happen that a mount meets the first two conditions, but the diagonal of the TV is greater than that declared for the mount. Then, there is a risk that the TV cannot be tilted and/or rotated to the desired position. In the case of small monitors, a bracket intended for larger panels may stick out of the contour of the screen.

The effects of improper selection of TV mount:
a reduced range of adjustment or incomplete coverage of the hardware by the flat panel
a reduced range of adjustment or incomplete coverage of the hardware by the flat panel
In the case of mounts allowing users to adjust the distance between the flat panel and wall, the desirable feature is the proper stiffness of their structures. Low-cost solutions use arms made of profiled steel sheet. Higher class mounts have two symmetrical, cast metal arms. Any arm is subjected to torsional force. The former category of the mounts is prone to twisting, which means that the user adjusting the distance of the panel from the wall also has to correct the level/tilt.
Freely selected commercials in hotel TV systems.
Many hotel owners would like to launch in their hotel TV systems "private" channels with a selected content (including commercials). The typical signal sources include PCs, DVDs/Blu-rays, and very popular media players capable of playing previously prepared presentations and videos. Currently, the preferred video format is Full HD. A device that allows for the distribution of the video as a DVB-T multiplex throughout a hotel TV system is HDMI-COFDM modulator Signal-751 R86751. The HDMI signal (up to Full HD 1080p) modulates RF signal (a set of carrier frequencies) in accordance with DVB-T standard (COFDM), which can be received by any HD television connected to the antenna system.
Application of the Signal-751 R86751 multifunctional device -
distribution of Full HD signal as a DVB-T channel in hotel TV system
and an IP stream available in WI-Fi network
In the example above, the input signal comes from a laptop with HDMI output. Additionally, the Signal-751 R86751 device coveys RF signals provided by the UHF antenna Dipol 44/21-69 Tri Digit A2670. All the signals, combined in the built-in RF coupler, can be further distributed in a typical RF antenna system. The signal entering the HDMI input of the encoder is also available in the form IP stream at the NMS output (UDP/IP). The IP multicast stream is broadcast by wireless router TP-LINK N3260. The content can be watched on PC computers, laptops and tablets with sufficient processing power, using an appropriate streaming player, e.g. VLC.
Video surveillance at night - better images.
The new Sunell camera, SN-IRC5930AHLDN M11282, is equipped with next-generation Sony Effio-E DSP (CXD4140GG). The effects are best seen during night operation with IR lighting. The images have even brightness and proper contrast.
Thanks to the function of intelligent IR lighting, the images captured by the SN-IRC5930AHLDN M11282 camera are free from overexposure caused by close or reflective objects
The application of the Sony Effio-E DSP (CXD4140GG) extends the possibilities of image processing and in combination with the advanced image sensor used in the M11282 camera ensures horizontal video resolution of 650 TVL (color) and 700 TVL (B&W), with S/N ratio over 54 dB and good balance of colors. The mechanically switching IR filter (ICR) ensures optimum imaging fidelity both day and night. During the day the camera uses the infrared filter, the colors are vivid and natural; at night, without the IR filter, the camera has full sensitivity to infrared light.
Hikvision DVRs - flexible, efficient and reliable.
We offer a modern series of Hikvision DVRs - DS-72xxHVI-SV - M72104, M72108, M72116. These 4, 8 and 16-channel CCTV network DVRs can record images in WD1 (960 x 576 px) resolution - the maximum resolution possible in analog CCTV systems. The DVRs can be directly controlled by connecting a mouse to the USB port (settings, live motoring, playback, backup). The management can also be handled with the IR remote control. The 19" monitor Iiyama ProLite E1980SD-B1 M3017 with maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels can display the live and recorded images without any loss of quality. It can also play the sound when this feature is implemented in the CCTV system. When the monitor is mounted on the E93351 wall bracket, it does not take any place on the desk and its position can be easily adjusted by the operator.

A CCTV system based on Hikvision of the DS-72xxHVI-SV series
HIKVISION DVRs connected to IP networks can be controlled via free iVMS 4000 or IVMS 4200 software, as well as via web browsers: Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari. The access is also possible from popular mobile platforms - Android, Windows Mobile, IOS.

Privacy zones in CCTV cameras. Masking selected areas is an important function of many video surveillance systems. The function is usually embedded in modern security cameras. The privacy zones mask the views of windows of some buildings, toilets, computer screens etc. If these places/objects were not masked, the staff having access to the monitoring system could unlawfully violate the privacy of the people in the places... more
