Where is the tower? The city is real powder keg. Many years ago the fuse lit in this city led to the outbreak of world war. In 1984 the city had the glory days - it hosted the Winter Olympics. The population amounted to 500,000. But in 1992 civil war broke out and for 3 years the city was besieged. During these years 10,000 people lost their lives, and the number of inhabitants decreased to about 300,000.
The city is a meeting point of three religions: Islam, the Orthodox Church, and the Roman Catholic Church. The global conflicts between religions led there to military activities. We may only hope that the disaster of the nineties will not happen again. What is the name of the city? The answer you can check at the end of this issue.

Antenna installations in hotels. The devices installed in hotels should be very reliable, due to the necessity of high service level and renown, the elements that enable the hotel to earn money. Large projects are based on headend stations and sets of channel amplifiers of Alcad, Signal distribution equipment, and TRISET cables.
Headend stations, modulators, channel converters and channel amplifiers from Alcad enable the designer to realize technologically advanced signal distribution systems that provide terrestrial and satellite TV channels, DVD playback, CCTV images. SIGNAL splitters and taps feature high repeatability and stability of parameters. TRISET cables make the family of A-class 75 ohm coaxial cables. For hotels there are recommended HF (Halogen Free) cables that, in case of a fire, do not give off toxic fumes.

Quick and professional installation of masts. The constructions for supporting outdoor antennas should be not only robust but also aesthetic. They are usually visible from outside. The structures can't be damaged by gales that grow stronger and stronger. They should also be perfectly protected against corrosion.
Mast constructions are often fastened to chimney tops. When the installer has a choice, he should utilize this one that does not smoke (e.g. discharge stack), otherwise the antennas have to be high enough not to be exposed too much to the corrosion gases. It is both the interests of the investor and the installer to use easy-to-mount and durable equipment. Having a lot of experience in this field, we can recommend to use antenna mounting clamp OK-43T13 E8514, designed for attachment to chimneys. Due to clamping rings these mounts do not require drilling holes in the chimney, which would be both inconvenient and risky for the construction of the chimney. The set includes plastic corner beads that protect the corners of the chimney. The metal strips of the OK-43T13 set can be tighten with typical screwdriver. For mounting the mast (the tube) there is needed single 13 mm wrench.

Monitoring of the tunnel under Mt Bagua. Tunnels are one of the most dangerous places of road infrastructure. The main problem of building CCTV installations in these places is the fact that the distances between locations of the cameras are large and the cameras lie in one row. In the tunnel under Mt Bagua in Taiwan the only applicable transmission solution has been IP network based on fiber-optic cables.
There have been used analog cameras, MPEG-4 Video Servers ACTi ACD-2100 K2113 , and 4-ch Video Servers ACD-2200. The system enables the operator to monitor the whole tunnel and record the material (with NVR K3032 software pack). IP-based solution permits operation of two surveillance centers, which enables the services to react quickly in case of emergency.

Monitoring of covered parking lots - Pan/Tilt IP camera Pixord P410 MJPEG/MPEG-4. The indoor Pan/Tilt IP Camera PIXORD P410 K1231 with network interface (RJ-45) is capable of transmitting MJPEG or MPEG-4 compressed images. The camera can provide images of D1 (720x576) resolution, at 25 fps. The images can be easily viewed via Internet browser and recorded in the computer. The Pan/Tilt control is executed just by the cursor of the mouse. There are also available eight presets and patrol function.
PIXORD P410 is the ideal device for monitoring covered parking lots, shop floors, big offices, halls, lounges, foyers etc. The camera has built-in microphone, which provides sound channel that can be recorded together with the video. Jack input allows to connect an external microphone, if desired. The camera ensures full duplex mode, i.e. one can connect a loudspeaker as well. This will allow to get intercom functionality (between the camera and the operator's computer) - the feature that is indispensable in the case of entrance control e.g. to a building, parking area etc.
PiXORD P410 has been also equipped with analog video output, so it can simultaneously operate in both systems, analog and IP. The I/O interface of the camera can be used as alarm output. The built-in SD card interface allows to record still pictures or video (MPEG-4) after motion detection has been triggered. The recordings can also be sent to FTP server and to assigned email address (as the attachment). The operator can set 3 areas of motion detection and Pre/Post alarms.
The included free software pack enables the administrator/operator to manage 32-channel surveillance system. Pixord cameras can also be controlled by commercial software from Milestone, NUUO, D3Data, Griffid and many other producers.

Sharing of broadband access to the Internet. The connection is provided by the ISP (cable TV, DSL, or other operator) via Ethernet interface (it may be for example cable modem with RJ-45 socket). The user will need a router equipped with WAN port (RJ-45 socket).Recommended devices:
- the router TL-WR542G N2950 directly connected to the DSL modem or local network - with RJ45 connector,
- wireless client cards PCI TL-WN551G N2970 (for desktop PCs),
- for laptops - wireless PCMCIA adapters TL-WN510G N2930 or USB ones: TL-WN321G N2920,
- to improve stability and transmission speeds we may use indoor antennas TL-ANT2406A A72711 or TL-ANT2405C A72713.
TP-Link TL-WR542G 54 Mbps N2950 is wireless router integrating router, firewall and access point. The main applications include small and medium-size businesses, one-family houses and apartments. TP-Link TL-WR542G provides a quick and convenient way of building wired and wireless network based on one external broadband service. The network, consisting of a number of computers, is additionally secured by firewall.
